Queen Anne Victorian | Bellingham, WA

This Queen Anne Victorian home in Bellingham, Washington was renovated while Jordyn Solberg was a Senior Designer at Lisa Staton Design.

The project focused on a previously added 1980s addition that felt disconnected from the original architecture of the home. While the rest of the residence featured rich historic millwork and period detailing, this space lacked the character and language of the original Victorian design.

Our goal was to thoughtfully renovate the addition so it felt fully integrated with the historic home, as though it had always belonged. Every detail was considered to bridge that gap between old and new, restoring architectural continuity throughout the space.

Key design moves included echoing an original drywall arch detail found under the staircase and reinterpreting it at the new range hood, as well as replicating original millwork profiles and corner protectors throughout the space. These small but intentional gestures helped reestablish the historic language of the home.

The result is a cohesive, character-rich renovation that feels authentic to the original Queen Anne architecture while functioning for modern living.
