Beaux Arts Village, Bellevue, WA | Mid-Century Home Renovation

Tucked into a wooded retreat just minutes from the city, this mid-century home in Beaux Arts Village, Bellevue, had incredible architectural bones and a strong original spirit, despite years of dated finishes and a compartmentalized layout.

The goal of this project was to thoughtfully renovate the home while honoring its mid-century character and preserving the architectural integrity that made it special. Rather than altering its essence, we focused on opening up the plan, improving flow, and allowing the original structure and lines of the home to take center stage.

The renovation emphasized a balance between preservation and modern living—reworking the kitchen to feel more integrated with the surrounding spaces, and selecting materials that reference the home’s original era while bringing warmth, texture, and clarity to the interiors.

What was once closed off and visually heavy is now open, light-filled, and inviting. The result is a refreshed mid-century home that feels both grounded in its history and fully adapted for contemporary living—a quiet celebration of its original design, thoughtfully reimagined.
